Education & Outreach Programme

A Tailored Programme for Schools and the Community

Renewi and Wakefield Council believe in working with the current and future generations to help improve our recycling and recovery rates.  We are educating people about our facilities; the role everyone plays in recycling; and the benefits for the community.

Renewi’s Education team deliver interactive workshops and assemblies to schools, colleges and youth groups across the district, as well as visits and talks to the public at community events.  Renewi is keen that everyone helps to make Wakefield a more environmentally friendly district.  Sessions delivered by the Renewi Education team are free. The Environmental Education programme is delivered via outreach sessions or at our purpose built education centre which offers an experience which cannot be replicated in the school environment or other external places

In line with the government road map for lifting restrictions in England, we hope to be able to invite members of the public back to our education centre from 17th May 2021. We are also able to arrange and attend educational sessions in person at schools and community events, or arrange virtual sessions. All sessions will be COVID secure. To contact our team about booking an event, please email education.wakefield@renewi.com.
