We have a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Maintenance Technician Team based at South Kirkby, Wakefield. You will be responsible for electrical maintenance services to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), Composting Facility, Residual Waste Treatment Facility (RWTF) and supporting Education Centre. The maintenance delivery services consist of preventative and reactive work, project work, supporting capital investment and lifecycle work. The role forms part of a self-contained maintenance team. The role is 4 on, 4 off, days and nights 6 – 6  working closely with the Operations Team to ensure safety and operational targets are met.

Responsibilities include
  • Execute planned maintenance activities (inspections, monitoring and routine) and to provide the necessary technical feedback to allow improvement to the job plans and task list within the CMMS.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance (corrective maintenance)
  • Work with the site operations and maintenance shift teams to prioritise reactive maintenance work.
  • Work to Renewi Safety, Health, Environmental guidelines and policies at all times
  • Seek the necessary support required from operations to make the plant safe and in a condition such that engineering and maintenance work can commence.
  • Assist with projects including improvement initiatives and replacement projects
  • Record all maintenance activities including spares and resources on the CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)
  • Use the CMMS to ensure future analysis can be carried out to identify poor performing equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance document and drawings to the required standard to ensure legal compliance.
  • Share waste process and maintenance knowledge with other team members.
  • Maintain a safe working environment through good standards of housekeeping and hazard identification.
What we're looking for :
  • Experience working in an industrial / manufacturing environment. 
  • Electrical Engineering qualification or apprenticeship - eg NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC or HND
  • Qualified to IET 17th edition wiring regulations
  • Good working knowledge on electrical installations, electrical testing, lighting maintenance, in service inspection and testing of electrical equipment, emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm systems, industrial switchgear, EMC, lighting protection, building services, LEV and control systems.
  • Strong fault diagnosis and rectification on control systems (PLCs, SCADA etc) and electrical systems and circuits from 24V d.c up to 415V a.c
  • Competent in the use of testing equipment and other hand tools for maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Working knowledge of Electricity At Work Regulations (EaWR 1989) and PTW and LOTO systems.
  • Good people skills and be able to communicate electrical / technical content to non-technical people.
  • Good numeracy and written skills
  • Full driving licence.(travel may be required between Wakefield sites)
