Which Items Can I Dispose Of?
Waste Items we can dispose of starting with “a”
Please take your bottles of unwanted antifreeze (if possible leave it in the original container) to your nearest Recycling Centre and put them in the chemical waste container. Ask a member of staff for help if you are unsure where this is.
If you are replacing an unwanted appliance, the retailer supplying your new appliance may offer you a take back service. Alternatively you can take your unwanted appliances to your nearest Recycling Centre. Please ensure these are placed in the appropriate container on site. If unsure please ask a member of staff on site. Or contact the Council about its bulky collections service.
You can take your household asbestos to the Wakefield and Glasshoughton Recycling Centres. These are the only facilites which accept asbestos by appointment only. For frequently asked questions and our booking in procedure, click here.
Unfortunately we are currently unable to take bookings for asbestos disposal. We hope to be able to offer this service again as soon as possible
