What Goes In Which Bin

Below is your guide to what goes in each bin:

Brown
Recycling Bin

Please only put the following items in this bin:
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastic bottles and their lids
  • Metal food tins
  • Metal drinks cans
  • Magazines
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Empty aerosols
  • Clean foil and foil trays

The Council is advising people to wash and squash plastic bottles to aid recycling and create more space in your bin.

Green
Household Bin

Please only put the following items in this bin:
  • Food waste
  • Juice cartons
  • Wrapping paper or card with foil
  • Pet waste and cat litter
  • And any plastic which is not a bottle or lid – such as carrier bags, food packaging, yoghurt pots, margarine cartons, fruit and vegetable punnets

Brown
Garden Bin

Please only put the following items in this bin:
  • Grass cuttings
  • Hedge trimmings
  • Twigs and weeds
  • Flowers
  • Plants
